The Autism Services, Education, Resources & Training Collaborative (ASERT) is pleased to announce the availability of a Spanish language version of its Statewide Resource Center. ASERT is the leading source of autism-related services and information in Pennsylvania and is eager to support Pennsylvanians who speak Spanish by phone, email and through resources available on the ASERT website.
The ASERT Statewide Resource Center is designed to provide streamlined access to information and resources to the tens of thousands of adults and children living with autism in Pennsylvania as well as their families, members of the communities they live in, and providers and professionals who support them.
Some common topics of ASERT resources include: new autism diagnosis, support groups and services available, transition to new grade levels in school, or to adult living or post-secondary programs after high school, grants and other funding streams, educational assistance, assistive technology, how to locate/find a service provider, evaluation information, BHRS services, applying for medical assistance, and finding other local agencies that can be of help.
The three components of the ASERT Resource Center are a statewide toll-free number and email address for live assistance, 1-877-231-4244 or ASERTespanol@PAautism.org, a website, http://www.PAautism.org, and outreach specialists available for community participation. The website offers information about local, regional and statewide events, professional training opportunities, community resources, services, current research and other information relevant to the autism community, and allows users to create free accounts to easily organize resources, events, and
training opportunities that are important to them. Many resources on PAautism.org are also available in Spanish, and ASERT is working diligently to grow the resources that are available in Spanish and in other languages.
The ASERT Statewide Resource Center, funded by the Bureau of Autism Services, PA Department of Human Services, is a key component of Pennsylvania’s strategy for supporting individuals with autism and their families throughout the Commonwealth.
