The #IWantToWork campaign, powered by social media and staffed by young people with disabilities who want to be fully ready to enter the workforce has launched a blog on the campaign website.
The campaign's goal is help Pennsylvania join many other states in becoming an “Employment First” State. The passage of current Legislation will facilitate the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace and community through increased funding to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Alexa Brill, Communications Associate for #IWantToWork, launched the first post, entitled A Journey to Employment, on the site. Brill stated, "I was taught that work is important. I have always wanted to work. I need to work. I want to be a fully participating member of society. I want my peers – other young people with disabilities – to have opportunities, too."
